The primary responsibility of the Senior Network Engineer:
• To handle daily network assigned tasks
• Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network components.
• Basic Network equipment installation, configuration and performance monitoring
• Deliver and perform professional services on-site or remote activities such as pre-deployment consultations, on-site surveys and on-site or remote assessments
• To act as a first point of escalation for network issues (Event handling and incident resolution)
• Support Network team for customer services delivery activities (when requested)
• Create, document, and implement procedures related to network physical topology, device configurations and deployments
• Perform on-sit network acceptance and high availability tests
• Self-startup and team player
• Self-motivated to take ownership of projects without much supervision
• Steady and fast implementer
• Ability to time-slice between multiple network tasks
• As a result, members of the Operations group must have excellent troubleshooting skills as well as thorough knowledge of all products, services, and Service Management processes.
Knowledge and Skills:
§ Network installations, implementations and configurations (Main vendor is Cisco Systems)
§ Network security systems installations, implementations and configurations (Main vendor is Cisco Systems)
§ Had experience on Enterprise/Data Centre networks and operations
§ Well knowledge/experience on advanced routing and switching (L2/L3)
§ Well knowledge/experience on the service provider routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP)
§ Well knowledge/experience on Wireless LAN Technology.
§ Well knowledge/experience on L3VPN MPLS networks
§ Well knowledge/experience on Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco Firepower and Cisco ISE
§ Well knowledge/experience on Cisco ISR Routers and Cisco Catalyst Switches
§ Well knowledge/experience on Data Centre technologies and platforms (as, Cisco Nexus 7K/5K/2K)
§ Well knowledge/experience on Cisco Computing Systems (Cisco UCS) and Cisco SAN Switches
§ Knowledge/experience on the network and server load balancers like F5 BIG-IP LTM.
§ Knowledge/experience on any Network Management System (as, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, MRTG/PRTG, HP OV) and readying reports
§ Documentation and Visio design/diagramming skills
§ Cisco Optical or Unified Communications Experience is a plus
§ In-depth trouble shooting and problem analysis skills
Education:
§ Post-secondary education in IT or related field
§ CCIE RS or SP or SEC with 5 years practical hands on experience
§ At least holding two CCxP certification specializations from Cisco Systems
§ Experience network security (Cisco is mandatory, F5, or Palo Alto)
§ Hands on experience managing and implementing virtual networks
§ ITIL v3 foundation
§ Ability to design and deploy client solutions
§ Operational experience in managing/maintaining complex network environments within a managed service environment
§ Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on technical and operational documentation
Willingness and ability to teach and train others
